Western Australia across the Nularbor to South Australia

Tingle trees grow to more than 70 meters ! A walk on the suspension bridge along the crowns of these trees is highly recommendable and easily worth the $15 invested ! The pink lakes of South Australia appears bubble gum pink when seen from above, not that visible from the shore but still gives an idea ! No one fully knows why the lakes are pink, but scientists believe the colour to come from a dye created by a bacteria that lives in the salt crusts.

Western Australia

A few more pictures from the westcoast. The second picture is of the boat that made Australia internationally known amongst sailsport fans, now on display in Fremantle maritime museeum...

Australia II is the Australian 12-metre-class America's Cup challenge racing yacht that was launched in 1982,  and won the 1983 America's Cup for the Royal Perth Yacht Club. Skippered by John Bertrand,
she was the first successful Cup challenger, ending a 132-year tenure (with 26 successful defenses) by the New York Yacht Club.

Last one is the end of Busselton jetty, the longest wooden jetty in the southern hemisphere ( almost 2 km )

Northern Territory + Western Australia

Finally found time ( and connection ) to post a few more pictures ! West Australia probably have the most fantastic sunsets & sunrise´s ! Dolphin picture was shot at Monkey Mia....

South Australia & Northern Territory

Ok, it´s been a while, sorry about that, but apparantly aussies don´t really have internet ( or phone ) in the outback, so that + the fact that i have had a few issues with my van actually resulted in a few weeks off the internet, which tbh has been rather nice ;-)  A few pictures of what i have done and seen last few weeks ! a few local animals, a "house" dug out from the cliffs in Coober Pedy, an orange rock in the middle of nowhere that attracts hundreds of thousands of tourists each year ( Uluru ) ! Personally I find Kata Tjuta (the olga´s), only 60 km away far more interesting & beautiful, especially in the last minutes of the day before the daylight disappears ! the vast majority of visitors never get to see this beautiful sight as all the tour busses have left the park by then ! last picture.... van getting a new starter ! this was a very HOT week as you can see on the thermometer picture ! I ALMOST regret not having an aircondition ! especially because the sand flies make it impossible to be outside for just 1 second without wearing a flyscreen hat or similar !

Victoria

First week has been cold and rainy ! not exactly what i expected when leaving the best summer ever behind me ! oh well, hopefully summer will pick up soon enough and heat my cold bones ! Spent first week cleaning camper van ( apparantly hippies don´t believe in soap and hygiene ) and make it ready for the big trip to the outback... looking forward to the big adventure, and to see the REAL Oz.

My campervan

First pictures of my camper van, a 1985 toyota hi-ace that my good friend Thommo bought for me this morning ! called me in skype using the camera in his phone,to show me the car in details ! who would have guessed my aussie friend to be so advanced on technology HAHAHA

A few things need be done to the van ! technically it´s sound, only a very few issues which will be fixed by the time i get there in a few days ! As for the interior i might have to do a few changes, not much though ! oh...it doesn´t have an A/C i might regret that when it gets really hot, but will deal with it then :-)
